This week HR Partners hosted its August HR Network Group breakfast and the topic drew in a crowd.
It was all about Social Recruitment.
The message was loud and clear.
When it comes to attracting the best talent – ‘social networks are where it’s at’.
As the competition for talent in Australia and around the world continues to surge, it is no wonder everyone was tuned in to every idea shared by the expert in this space – Hassanah Rudd, Australia Recruitment Manager for Fletcher Building.
With 20 years talent acquisition experience, Hassanah superbly explored the key areas of Social Recruitment that everyone in HR should be considering in their recruitment strategy:
- Who do you want to target?
- What social networks do your targeted talent use? Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn
- Create your content and attract them to your careers website
- Engage with these communities on and off line.
Why? Simply put, it makes good business sense. Better people makes a better business.
Investment in your social recruitment strategy has proven ROI not only in reducing time to hire and improving your chances of finding great talent, but improving culture fit and therefore engagement and ultimately performance.
A big shout of thanks to Hassanah for so generously sharing her time and brilliant ideas with the HR Network Group this week – but right now, I’d better get going, I’ve got some tweeting to do!
2nd September – North Ryde – Tessa Balance – Associate Director HR at Optus:
